Carb inlet seat stuck.

I can't get my inlet seat out of my carb (96 SL 700). The SBT video says to just pull it out with pliers but mine won't budge. I'm damaging it while trying to pull on it. I believe the carb in the video is a Mikuni, and mine is a CDKII. Is there a different procedure for the CDKII, or am I doing something wrong?

The cdks are pressed in. It can be tapped out.
