My virage 1200 has the same problem as Brian 75 it starts and runs good when cold but it wont start when its hot it will crank over without the lanyard but nothing if you put it in . I can start it by a jump wire on the starter soliniod .
You suggested a jump wire to the cdi could you give me more info on how to do this .

    Re: Starting problems

If its 2000 virage tx then it may need a jumper wire in the electrical box, its the red/purple wire from the cdi that ineeds to be disconnected and run to the orange tab on the terminal board in the electrical box. On the early 1200 cdis when you shut off the ski, sometimes the cdi would still think the engine was running and not let you restart the ski, but after it sat for a while it would reset and let you restart the ski. By adding the jumper wire if fixes the issue.
