• 94' sl 750, Burning a hole in the #1 piston Question

I was looking at how the carb rack works and was wondering about this issue "Burning a hole in the #1 piston" The main supply from pump tees off and goes around the middle carb into a header. Looks like uniform distribution for the carbs to me. Do i have a differnt set up then the ones burning holes in the #1 piston?

Oil injector pumps scare me. Thinking about mixing gas. What should the ratio be? What does the raito mean exactly...4 cycle man myself, 2 cycle newbie Is ther some good oil measuring tools out there i should get? Can i mix at the pump or better to mix in can first?

Sorry for all the question, better get use to it. Ill make it worth your while with all the money I spend thru you. Very impressed with your webiste/company!

The problem with the #1 cylinder is that after the first two carbs there is not enough volume going to the front cylinder. Since it is not getting enough fuel, it overheats and then kablooey (not exactly like that, but you get the idea.) Mixing ratio is probably like 40 parts gas to 1 part oil or 40:1 (with a good quality oil.) Don't hold me to that, though. You can buy mixing cups and what not to measure out the correct oil amount. I always have a 6 gallon gas can with me (when I go with my pre-mix friends) that way when I go to the gas station, I can put the correct amount of oil and then put six (or what ever amount in the correct ratio) gallons in. I then pour into the jet ski. This maintains the correct mixture and you never have to guess. If you do this, you may have extra in the plastic 6 gallon gas can so you can use that as extra fuel if get running low out on the lake. Premixing is not a bad idea and I am thinking of doing that to mine. Many of my friends have gone to premix and have had less problems, due to loss of lubrication with the pump. Hope this helps. Good Luck.
