I have a 1200 SLX with 10 hours on it and the stator veins behind the impeller are cracking.
I called the dealer where I bought the unit and
they said I must have sucked something threw the jet. Nothing has gone threw the jet. A friend of mine has the same ski so I looked at his and his stator is cracked also. This is the stainless six vein stator. I still have warranty,
but the dealer does not think that this will be covered.

If you had the aluminum one on there they will crack just riding fast over waves and coming un hooked. But the stainless ones. Not the case. If you have a cracked stainless impellor there are only two causes, a weak spot in the metal which is a material issue and should be covered in your warranty, or sucking a rock, stick, or some other object in and having it hit with great force to crack the veins. Are they dented back or nicked or just cracked clean off? If clean break and no nicks, material failure. Even a small rock will crack the veins.

It's extremely rare, in general, to have a stator vane crack on it's own, but there have been cases of defective designs in the past. I have not heard of any issues with your model yet though.

Four of the six vanes are cracked, the longest crack is about one half inch. Would that make the machine vibrate? It seems to shake at about 2000 rpms but it seems smooth at idle and wide open. I had the drive shaft checked out and it was straight. I want to use it this weekend, then I will bring it to the dealer to have them fix it.I have a aluminum stator off of my SL 900 I am going to try that with a solas Impeller.

very uncommon for the stainless stators to just blow vanes out unless something went through the pump. If you put the aluminum stator on there, it will blow out the vanes just due to the force of the water going through the pump. That is one of the reasons Polaris went to the stainless stators, the boats had too much power for the aluminum ones to hold up.

Craig If your dealer won't call Polaris, let me know and I will see what can be done. I will need the Vin numbers to process it. Thanks Tim @ Performance Motorsports 260-637-7953 :D
