750 fuel return line

I have a 95 750 polaris. On the return line from the carbs to the tank it should have a flow restrictor in it right. Well some one replaced the line and there is not one in it now. Would that effect the top-end performance. What size should the id of the restrictor be?

The restrictor has a .4mm orifice and should be zip tied about an inch from the carb rack in the return line. The 780's had the restrictor in the carb. I would definitely get the restrictor and put it in if you don't have one?
