  • BP7ES VS. BPR7ES

Does anyone know if it would be alright to use BP7ES instead of BPR7ES in my 95 slt 750?

It won't hurt eh engine but will foul quickly. The P is for Projected tip. You need it for correct performance.

Thanks but doesnt the r just mean that there is a resistor in the plug? How could having a resistor or not having a resistor affect performance??

R does mean resistor - you have a typeo...it's BR7ES or BPR7ES, not what you typed. They are both resistor plugs and yes you need that too.

Yes those are the wrong plugs - those aren't even used in a PWC of any kind.

The difference between the BP7es and the BPR7es is the resistor. If you put non resistor plugs into your particular craft the stray rfi signals will turn off your C. D. I.. I remember back in 1996 when the domestic motors first came out. We had one heck of a problem trying to figure out what was going on with an SL 900 and a hurricane that we had at the shop at the same time. The SL 900 would start up and then die immediately. Sometimes , you might be able to get it run for five seconds or so , and then it would shut down. The hurricane would run and run and run and then die , and then start up immediately. Turns out , both machines had non-resistor plugs in there. We switched over to the proper plugs and the problems went away.

It will still screw up the CDI signal if you don't run a resistor plug. Tee old Yamis were the same way,

I've been putting non res in the fuji motors since 94, never had one mess up. But, the domestic/german CDIs seem really sensitive
