  • oil level sensor

I am going to install an oil block off kit on my sl650. I assume disconecting and dicarding the
oil level sensor would be fine. correct??

Also if I decided to use the oil tank for extra gas what would I need to do?

    Thanks

Don't use it for extra gas, it's not safe. We are revising our book.

Jump the sending wire with a 35 Ohm resistor to show a full tank.

OR....simply ziptie the sensor in place at the high-level mark. That's what I did on my old SLT 750.

Don't discard the sending unit. You (or someone who may eventually buy your boat) may want it to reuse the oil pump. :D

So disconnecting the sensor from the electrical box and removing it from the boat is not the right thing to do?

I'm pretty sure that will show an empty tank and set off the warning. You need to jump it like I said if you don't want the Low Oil light on.
