Drew, I don't think the SL700 has the same pipe, but I do know that the Virage does, I have a stock pipe that has been repaired it needs a little work but I have been using it. If you are interested let me know. Middle 50's should not be difficult to obtain even with a mostly stock setup, mine does a solid 53 with just heads (don't really think I gained any top end from the heads), Wet Wolf can help you get better accelleration thats what I will be working on next.

I am running a bored exit nozzle (87mm) and an Adjust-A-Thrust. It screams out of the hole, and I still manage to get it to 53 on top and thats at 2400 ft. elevation. ;)

Modking- Thanks! Do you have one of these pipes you can part with? Oh, I'm going to need crank seals too...I'd like to put the bottom end together this weekend...well, actually, I could put the top end on too now that I've decided...WoooHooo!!! He has some gaskets with it, but I'd rather go with all new, just to be sure. I'll give you a call over my lunch hour...

Hurricane-- I've got a welder, lathe and a mill (both mini). I should be able to fix it. Send me an e-mail: amarum@fastenal.com

Wet Wolf-- I'm going to get this thing running and see what the GPS shows, then I'll be ready for some mods (non-engine). I did get three props in the deal, what do you think I could pull with riflebore, hotseat heads (mild), and a stock pipe.

What does everyone think about the ignition, I have a hotseat, the stock, and I think another one. Everything is at my Parents' place (30min. away), so I can't say for sure until the weekend.

Thats quite the setup on a hurricane...you would have more pain than joy with the mod setup but you'ld be smiling ear to ear when it was running. 2k is a good price and could problebly part it out for that price if the project falls apart and buy yourself a stock machine. Meet me out on tonka this summer man I'd like to see it.

get a set of v-force reeds on there; I definately felt some extra pep in my old sl700. It might have them on there just look on the top of the reed valve they have a little tag. I know hot seat liked selling them with those carbs. You could find a stock pipe for sure if thats what you deside.
