Rebuilding a 94 SL750 that I bought from my dad. The crankase looks like they have water cooling jackets around them. The hose connecting them was plugged. Are these supposed to be connected to the cooling lines going to the heads?

No, teh case is not cooled, only the cylinders. It's connected by many passages from the head through the cylinders and the exhaust manifold.

There are no hoses going to the heads - there is a single water rail connecting the heads - are you sure you have your terms right? Can you send me a pic?

Can't find my digital camera, kids must have lost it. They are most definitely water lines, look like 5/8's. There are two outlets exiting from the port side, one from cylinder 1, the other from cylinder three. They are near the bottom, #1 comes out just under the starter. They are T'd together and end with a plastic cap at the end of the water hose.

Could be a 93. Does that have a different cooling circuit from a 94?
