cleaning the carbs

If i take out the carbs and clean them do i have to buy a carb rebuild kit?

Depends on how lucky you are. If you take the carbs off and tear a base gasket or other gasket or diaphram as you are in disassembly you will be stuck waiting. At the very least I would get some base gaskets.. If you have to buy a diaphragm you might as well buy a kit.
