It might just be a bad connection at the MPEM (computer), or it may need a new MPEM.

It is missing the starter relay ( solenoid ) about $35.00 at SD.

$1100 is cheap if it runs ( good motor).

Or the engine is seizing and is shot. Do a compression test and see what you get.

offer her 900. even if it needs sbt motor, selonoid, mpem? with a decent trailer doesnt sound like a bad deal. if worse comes to worse part it out on e-bay

pull the plugs on the MPEM if it got wet the pins will be green , its possable , sounds more like a bad DESS post to me . or its possably running lean and locking up . easy to tell if you pull the RAVES and look at the pistons . if the ski is not faded its worth 2500 running right and 5 to 600 for a double trailor . so 900 to 1100 is not bad .

What is a "DESS" Post? How much does it cost to repair???

Re: 98 Gsx runs 20 feet the quits!

They said it quits about 20 ft out and will not do anything, like it looses all power??? I just dont want to throw money away...

Lady said her sons flipped it and that is how the computer got wet....but it ran after that, The dealer told her it was the computer so she parked it...now it just sits!

the DESS post is where the key plugs onto , if your running along and POOF it shuts off like you pulled the key off its prob the DESS post . the only possable way the MPEM could get wet and be damaged is if the pins are green , the DESS post is about 40 bucks .
