  • Sea doo HX ???????? Advice

Can anyone tell me about the HX, Pros and Cons... I like the looks of them and hear they can turn an a dime. But I see them going very cheap compared to other skis same year and older!!! why? is there a problem with them?

Im confused and scared to buy one at this point. I have seen 1996 skis in excelent condition going for 1,200 to 1,500 is this a deal or a bag of troubles???

Re: Sea doo HX ???????? Advice

The HX is a fun one person ski for anyone who isn't real big bodywise. They sell cheap because SD sold them new in 1998 for $2500.00 to get rid of their overstock of this slow selling model. The marketplace is for two and three seaters.

This model is not for old people with weak knees or out of shape bodies.

1996 Sea Doo HX Engine Possibilities

Hi. I was given an immaculate 96 Sea Doo HX. The engine is missing from the ski which I will have to acquire. I have searched the parts and compared with my 95 SPI to find that it appears the only parts missing are the engine and the associated fly-wheel/fly-wheel housing at the front of the engine.
                Two questions....

Good resource to acquire a complete set-up as required?

What engines can I stick in this ski (720)?

Any insight would be appreciated or pics of an HX engine would be great.

                Thanks,
                Joshua Cole

Re: Sea doo HX ???????? Advice

The HX used the 720 engine with twin carbs. Put an advertisement in the "PARTS WANTED" section of this website. In fact, SBT recently ran an ad for brand new factory 720 motors and I'm sure they still have some for sale.
