  • How cold before ski freezes?

How cold do you think it has to be to freeze a block? If the temp dips into the low 30's to high 20's for a few days in a row do you think it would cause damage? Just curious... What if you could not get to winterize your ski and it dipped into the high 20's for a couple of days before you could winterize? Would that be cold enough to cause damage? I have already winterized my ski's, just wondering if anyone has any experience with this or knows? thx

Practically speaking we don't usually see damage until you see 20's in the
daytime, or low 20's /teens overnight.
Why that is I don't really understand.

Personally I get mine prepped as soon as they call for 32 overnight,
but I know people who press their luck.
