Re: Low RPMS on New seadoo 951 SBT Motor

I will start with a 1/4 turn but if I can gain an extra 500rpms and extra 5 to 6 mph gain then they do not need to give jetting specs out. They Told me those specs are about as pefect as you can get with an rejet and aftermarket airfilters. Of course I think the the jetwork exhaust 951mod is a big waste of money .

Put in 170's and close the high speed adjusters.

tell them there is no perfect jetting lol all motors run differnt and need to be tuned to be perfect . bills jetting is good listin to him .

btw 185 is huge jump for a stock motor with just FA on it . the stock jets are only 150s / 70s

          Chris,

Stock jets are 165 X 80 in most models and 162.5 in the 1997.5 GSXL ( that's why they siezed) LOL!

But, 185's are still way too big, and a half turn out is alot too.

i have a ton of 150 mains ive pulled from stock 951s ive seen many 162.5 mains that should be doos updated fix with the new airbox .

i run 165 mains and 90 lows in my own ski { lows are the key in the 951s } it depends what the compression is also what jets i run for my customers . everyones differnt so are the setups :-)

I've never seen 150's in a 951......... The smallest ever was 160 mag, 162.5 pto with an 80 low speed jet and only in the 1997.5 model grey top.

Hey guys I think I found a problem. I took off the Rave covers and springs and put my finger over the black nipple and push down. !!!! guest what!!! the rave Valve popped up even with my finger on the nipple but I noticed there was no air hole on the black nipple. Am I going to have too take off that black piece as well?

Picture of Rave Valves I was pressing on. Let me know if I have to take off the nipples and how do I fix the Rave Valve air Leak.

try pulling the raves apart and putting some grease around the shaft where it sits in the Orings and see if it holds . that has worked for me in the past and it seats the Orings and shaft well . the Oring will swell some with grease on it .

your jetting still needs to be ajusted though . but see how the grease works and post back .

I think I gave a false alarm because I did the Check without the PWC turned on. I did noticed a difference in Rave Valve cover assmebly between my 2 951. My stock rx has the Rave Cover facing one direction and the my SBT motor Rave Cover was facing another. Would that make a big difference?

If you are talking about the black cap with the red button in the center, no it wouldn't make a difference. It just holds the spring in there.

I lose rpm with any main jets over 170........
