First, I would like to thank in advance anyone who replies to this cry for help. I read many of the previous threads on this topic and the info has been extremely helpful. My only problem is I tried just about all fixes and still have no spark.
Second, the history of the ski- I just puchased it a few weeks ago from a Harley dealer that was going out of business here. Believe it or not this machine has never been titled or registered. Furthermore, it hasn't been started in the least two years. However it is far from being in great shape. When I bought it I installed a freshly charged battery and pushed the start button and the lights would light up and the trim would work. I could turn the motor over by arching the starter relay. The motor compression is 160 and 160. So I diagnosed it as being the DESS key not programmed to the MPEM. I took it to a local dealer and bought a new key and had it programmed. Now it turns over, but no spark. There was two ground screws loose and the plug to the stator and pick up was disconnected. I took care of those and made a new connection on the small ground wire in the rear box to the battery. The fuses are good. I also inspected and cleaned all connections, Still no spark. Now I took off the cover to the stator and pick-up. Everything looks real good.
Third, this is driving me nuts. I was up till 1:00am on Christmas Eve trying to fix this thing. Any guidance or input would be greatly appreciated. I am allergic to the dealers in this area.
