  • starter

Just rebuilt my motor and installed it. started a few times and run great. Today the battery was dead so I put a good one in it and while hooking up the negative the starter turned over continously. I had to unhook the battery. I replace the soleniod and it still engages the starter when I hook the battery up. Can it be the second soleniod is bad to? Or is there something else to check? It acts as if the starter is hooked directly to the battery.

    Please help.

What model & year is the ski?
I had a '91 SP that, all of a sudden, would just start on it's own. Turned out to be a defective lanyard switch.

        Re: starter

It is a 97 SP. Th electrical box was not even disconnected. By that I mean it remained in tacked so the wires could not have been crossed. I checked the kill/start switch and it is operating fine. This is happening without even connecting the lanard.
