Intermiediate shaft 98xpl

Intermediate shaft jumps out of motor housing when under load.

Background: 951 Super stock XPL
Stock pump replaced with D75 setback magnum pump with long nose impeller.
Impeller length verified :
Situation when using stock pump does not occur.

Is it a bad coupler?

How does the coupler look?
When you install the drive shaft is it tight in there? May not be tightened enough. I have no clue, just thought I'd throw some ideas out at you.

No, this is an area that novice builders get into trouble when using a Skat Trak pump, especially with the extended nosed impellor/stock driveshaft. You need to place shims inside of the impellor to push the driveshaft forward and take up the slack in the driveshaft. You want the couplers to be almost tight, but they need some slack (1/8th to 3/16ths inch) so they do not overheat the couplers.

This is critical when setting up an aftermarket pump.

does Skat Trak make a drive shaft for all there pumps like for the RXX setup ?

I have had good luck using three dimes (coins) as a spacer in the impeller hub.

Hi had a similar problem all it was a bad engine mount when bouncing through the waves motor would move up and drop the front shaft.

Just grab the exhaust pipe and try to move the motor forward and back if a mount is sus you will see the engine lift up.

The driveshaft from Skat is not applicable as he is using the long nosed impellor to eliminate the need for the expensive longer driveshaft that they offer. But, proper spacing during setup is critical even with the longer shaft.
