  • Factory Pipe Spec 1

    Hello all,

Let me just first say that you guys have an excellent website and a vast array of knowledge with all of your members. I have a modified 95 Seadoo Xp which i purchased a used rebuilt motor last fall with some mods done to ie bigger crank bigger pistons factory pipe spec 1 w/ecwi and ocean pro flame arrestors w/aftermarket waterbox. I'm wondering if anyone knows of any online retailers of factory pipe where I can get the necessary gaskets if there are any as I have installed the motor into the hull but have not hooked up the exhaust or the pump(letting the dealer do it next week) as I am not to famaliar with this system. Thanks any and all info will be greatly appreciated!!!:)

Also all the hoses, etc I might need to complete the installation, thanks

The Spec1 series uses an oem headpipe gasket. It's the Spec2 that uses a FPP oversized gasket.

          Thanks Bill,

I wish we had a shop like yours here in upstate Ny!!! Any idea on the hoses or anything else I might need to finish installation? Thanks

Also this engine came out of a 95 hx do the splines inside the pto match those of an xp driveshaft for that year? I have to find my driveshaft might have lost it when I moved a couple of months ago

              Bill,

So what you are sying is in theory if I want to use this motor I have to switch out the pto correct? Cause I think the Hx driveshaft is a 2 piece and my xp came with just the one piece. So if I want to use this engine in my 95 XP I would have to switch the pto to make my stock driveshaft compatible?

Not if you have a 1995HX motor. If you have a 1995 HX motor, the driveshaft for a 1995 XP will work with that splined PTO.

If you have a 1996-7 HX motor, the PTO is the one with the coupler on it, and it will not work with an XP driveshaft..

I'm sorry, I thought you had an HX.

The one I have Bill just has a grease fitting on it there isn't any rubber seal around it like the stock motor had on the end of the pto. i'm about 80% sure that it was a 95 HX

So, someone took the rubber seal off of it. All splined pto's use a rubber boot on them.

                      Whew,

Just wanted to make sure that I had the right one. I ordered a new one is a zip tie ok to secure it to the pto? I don't have those special pliers for the seadoo clamps.

Yes, we all use zip ties.

BTW, even a new pto does not come with the rubber boot. You order it sepretely.
