bilge outlet location 95 XP

I need to relocate my bilge pump outlet, I thought I should ask here first so I don't make the same mistake(bad placement) again.

I was thinking about moving it to the rear, below the water line, opposite the exhaust outlet, and add "loop" or a upside down "U" of hose to act as a trap to keep the water out. My concern is when you stop, would the wake/wave force water back thru the loop? or just buy a check value?

My bilge water is pretty nasty, so I want to mount it somewhere so it isn't seen...

Should work ok if the loop is high enough. That is how the muffler hose works.
