  • Running on one cylinder

I have a 99 GSX-L with a Rossier billet head (155 psig), Rossier pipe & exhaust manifold, Prok, NGK BR9ES plugs, and MT water controller.

The top end was just rebuilt. It runs fine out of the water. Will stay running with either plug wire disconnected. In the water it only runs on the front cylinder. I have been though the carbs, they look fine. I have pressure tested the case and I pressure tested the cooling loop – no leaks.

Any idea’s on where I should look next?

    Thanks,

    Dan

Snip off 1/2 inch of the sparkplug wires and reconnect the caps.

Bill - Sorry, I should have mentioned that I did snip about 1/4" off the plug wires & I could see a good amount of copper wire when I reconnected the caps - should I try snipping off a little more?

No, try doing a better job of screwing them back on, keep twisting until they get real tight. Try a different sparkplug in that hole. Worst case senerio, replace that coil.

Bill - I twisted the plug cap on better and that solved the problem. Thanks for the advise, you saved me a bunch of time.
