hood upgrade for 1996 SP

my 1996 has a teal colored hood with a blank spot that looks like it would hold a guage of some sort.

I'd like to upgrade to a hood (same color) with mirror(s) and a guage or two. In looking at the pictures in the owners manual it looks like the SP, SPI and XP hoods would be interchangable. Does anyone know for sure? Also, does anyone know what years of hoods would fit? Lastly, what would be a good source for the hood?

You can switch the hoods from any of those models you just mentioned yes. Now as far as color that is what will tkae you a bit. Look here or sedoosource.com, or PWCtoday.com

i have 2 hoods listed in the parts fourms , the green is mint , the yellow is faded but can be painted any color you like .

the green looks like the right color. Is the 1994 XP hood the same fit as the 1996 XP hood? It looks to me like the 1994 XP hood more square at the front. Here's a picture of a 1996 XP hood on ebay:

I'm thinking the hoods changed in 1995, but I don't know for sure.

they are the same hoods and either will work for what you want to do.
