  • 96 xp problem with motor

Just put a new top end in my ski. .02 over
other then that the ski is all factory, just like seadoo made it.

Ran the break in like SBT says to.

On my third tank of gas I opened it up.

The motor ran great for 30 sec.

Then if killed like I pulled the lanyard.

I re-started it; it ran poorly so I got towed in.

At the landing I put it on the trailer and ran it again. I noticed a little water coming out of the exhaust gasket falling on my carbs.

I pulled plugs, turned the motor over a few times to blow out any possible water.

Then torked the bolts and it fired right up. It seamed to run fine.

Back in the water it will not run full throttle.

It kills the and then it is hard to start.

If I let it sit for a bit, say an hour it starts back up and runs fine.

Then at full throttle it kills again and runs rough.

    Help

Re: 96 xp problem with motor

    You siezed the pistons.
    Do a compression test.
The reason it siezed was because either the fuel system is not delivering fuel, or the oil injector is not delivering oil.

I don't know what you meant by " .02 overall factory", but if that is your piston to clyinder wall clearances, it will continue to sieze new pistons forever. ( did you mean .002?)

Should be 155 and 155. You need new pistons.......Maybe another bore job too.

Find out why it is siezing before you ruin another set of pistons.
