Does anyone know what the voltage should read on the plug that connects to a relay just before the rave valves, should read? Mine reads 7volts but the relay has 12volts written on it. If standing in the rear facing the ski, it is located in the left hand side, on the uooer side of the hull. I have looked throughout the service manual and can not locate this voltage.

    Thanks all

A GTI with Rave Valves? I think you have a GTX.

There is an amplifier built into the throttle position switch that amplifies the power to activate the rave valve solenoid.

Yes, GTX, Sorry. What should the voltage be when timmer is active.(7 volts here) Would you happen to know what the voltage should be to open the RAVE. The voltage throughout throttle from idle to 3/4 depression is 7 volts?? The RAVE never moves. The RAVE solenoid OHmed at 30.

I have no idea. When I check a rave solenoid, I connect a jumper hot wire to it and it clicks. That means it works. I have never tested one that did not work. I have never seen one fail or wear out. About the only thing that happens to them is that mechanics break the plastic fittings off when changing sparkplugs or replacing engines.

There are several wires ( a shade of purple) that only are susposed to have 8 Volts running through them.

I belive that solenoid will work on 6 or 12V, even though it is marked 12V.

I think you are barking up the wrong tree.
