96 XP problems

I have been working on a 96 XP that would not start.

When I put in the lanyard, it beeps like it is all set to start, but when I press the start button nothing happens. When I press it 5 times I get the diagnostic beeps, so I assume it is not the starter button, also when I jump the relay it turns over no problem ... I am confused on where to go now ? MPEM? ??

Any help would be great !

if you jump the starter solenoid, it works? have you tried replacing it?

Yes it has a brand new one, that is what I thought it was
