Just three more things and I'm finish with the teardown. Tommorrow, I'll get the impeller tool to get the PTO off. I'm still struggling and getting frustrated with the flywhell nut, it just wont budge. Is it okay to remove it with the air compressor & driver gun?, than the mounting stand, that one should be easy.

New engine should be here either tommorrow or Thursday, hopefully, rebuild should be relatively easy.

Just have one question, before reassembly is there anyway to check that the starter and stator are working properly before reinstalling?

    Vinnie,
You can connect a 12v power wire to a grounded starter motor and it should spin.
What makes you think something is wrong with your stator?

Yes you can use an impact wrench on the flywheel nut. You can use it on the bedplate nuts too.
