A couple more Newbie questions

Do I really need to use Seadoo 2 stroke oil in my 1998 GTX Limited, or can I get away with using other brands of marine 2 stroke oil?

Does the flush intake (where I screw the hose on for flushing after riding), need to be blocked when I'm riding? I'm assuming it doesn't need to be closed

Thanks again for all the help. This site is great. It's really taken the mystery out of my Seadoo.

Close it you fry the motor. It is where the water exits the motor.

You can use any approved synthetic oil.
