what i am looking for is a grate that is going to keep me hooked up in chop and not kill me on top end!

So, you want something that drags more water into the pump, but does not create drag that slows the boat?
If you find it, patent it. You will make a fortune.

The least drag is the oem grate, but it sucks for hook up in chop. The best one for speed with some hookup was the Inventioneering grate, but they are out of business.

Get a mild aftermarket grate that does not have a deep scoop. A handheld grinding tool can be your friend to reduce the amount of drag a scoop grate creates.
