  • SP wirring diagram

    I am attempting to fix a 95 seadoo sp for my boss. He had his nephew pull the starter about a year ago and since then everything has been lost but the starter. Does anyone have a wireing diagram they could post or send me that shows how to hook up this starter? There does not appear to be any wires for it in the ski. Only a positive battery wire. I am a fabricator not a sea doo mechanic and since I did not take it apart I am lost. Any help would be apreciated.

      Re: SP wirring diagram

      the starter only has 1 red wire that goes to it , it will come from the gray box , the other red wire will go to the battery and you have 1 black wire , the starter wire should have a ribbed sleve on it { protection from rubbing the exh pipe }

        Also, the engine ground lead (black battery cable direct to battery) goes
        on the starter mount stud, at least on some models. Find that cable and
        figure where it goes before bolting up the starter..

            Thanks for the help. I am going to work on it tomorow. Why are there three posts on the starter like a car but only one wire hookup. This had me confused.

                Ok. I got it all together today and it won't start. I had the starter gone through so I know it is good. When I hit the button the first time it turned over but now all I get is a clicking sound in the grey electrical box. Is there a solenoid in their that can go bad. Oh yeah and the battery if fully charged.
