A rock was stuck where the trim goes up and down. Took the rock out and now the trim doesn't work. All it does is click when I press the vts button down and does nothing when I press the vts button up. Anyone know if I need a new motor or is it something else. Thanks

Re: 96 xp vts not working
I bet you need a new VTS housing assembly, a rubber trim rod boot, and maybe even the motor.
You need to test the motor first. Connect the hot and negative leads from the 12v battery ( use some homemade jumper wires) to each of the two connectors in the VTS housing that go to the VTS motor. If the motor is good it will spin the gear.
In that case, buy a new VTS housing assembly.Bill O'Neal <br>

VTS not working?
Welcome to the world of seadoo.
I'm fooling with a 96 GSX that trims up and down, but the guage will not move..
It shows a bar in the guage, but it does not move and will pop a 7.5 amp fuse if the nozzle goes too far up or down....:emoticonn

Thanks to Bill and everyone else! I figured out my problem and it was the vts motor. Water was in there and siezed it up and I have know clue about jet ski's but I took it apart and freed up the vts motor and now it works.
Thanks everybody!
