have experienced this with 2 ski's now both 95 xp's. ski's run good except for when out of water with flush hose attached giving throttle sends ski's to rev limiter and will not come back down without killing ski. it didnt start doing it to the 2nd ski till i tried to swap carbs for trouble shooting now when i reistalled original carb back on 2nd ski, 2nd ski does it also. checked throttle cables and carbs all return butterflies to closed when throttle is released. doesn't make since to me if butterflies are closed where is the engine getting air and fuel from? asked around and no one seems to know whats going on any help?

Re: 95 xp stuck wot
you have an air leak somewhere or your carbs are clogged up and your running lean . it could be a bad crank seal or crack in the intake or just a bad gasket .
you do lot of damage when your engine runs away find the problem before it happins again , if it happins again choke the ski to stop itPRIDE IN SERVICE

Re: 95 xp stuck wot
Unless there really is an air leak, this is usually caused by having the throttle cable too tight or maybe you just need to open the low speed adjuster about 1/8th turn further out to give the motor a tiny bit more fuel. You can lower the idle speed a little too. These motors are very sensitive when idling, especially when the throttle shafts have a few years wear on them.Bill O'Neal
Re: 95 xp stuck wot
ok ill look at the carb gasket b/c i didnt replace it when i put the carb back on. i know its not the throttle cable i checked that. one other thing one of my ski's (96 xp) sat over winter with water in the cyclinder and now is rusted and froze if i remove the cyclinders and hone them and replaced the rings will this be a good enough fix? thanks for your help.
