  • loss of power when engine is hot

:emoticonc 1994 Seadoo - The engine gets fuel and drives fine when the engine is hot it will drop rpms right down then will boost back up and repeat. plugs are new and brs8's color is good. no water in the fuel. fuel is get in even when the engine is dying back. When I pull the choke out a quarter to half I regain most of my rpm's. what can it be we are thinking electrical (spark is losing its spark or too my air). Very confused.

Just somewhere to start.....Are the RPM's dropping off under load? If so, it could possibly be the ignition system-Your spark plugs must be newish (ie: if they are more than 25 hrs old then put in some new ones) and your spark plug leads must be in good condition (Not just aesthetically-try and check the resistance of the spark plug cables......as spark plug leads get older they break down and require replacing. The breaking down causes increased resistance, which leads problems when passing the current that causes the spark through the cable).

That said, your jetski is a 94 model and if it hasn't had some major mechanical attention (like a new engine-you may have air leaks in yours) then you may want to consider rebuilding the engine. Hope this helps:emoticont

EDIT: 1 more thing-maybe it is as simple as your carbs-have they been rebuilt lately? If your not sure then get someone to have a look for you.

If it runs great for @15 min then starts acting up then the stator may be getting heat soaked and causing the spark problems. But it does sound like something in the ignition.
