  • Does a small amount of tarnishing matter?

    Hi all,

i'm just ripping apart an engine at the moment-Does a small amount of surface tarnishing matter inside of the cylinders? It also happened to the rotary value within 1 minute. Should i coat the internal parts of the engine in WD-40 until i am ready to re-assemble or doesn't it matter, ie: Dissapears when the engine is rebuilt and restarted. Thanks.:emoticont

PS: Cylinders are not being bored. They will stay as they are.

On the cylinders, a light brushing with scotch brite is good, you want to clean off any glaze at minimum, be sure to wash in soap and water and coat with a oil IMEDIATLY.
