  • 00 xpl gasket question

I have two headgaskets for my xpl and i'm not sure which one to use. I have one that came with my wesico top end kit that is made my commet and another from my kit that I purchased from SBT. The one from the wesico is quite a bit thicker, having 3 layers. The one from sbt only has 2 layers and looks like a cheaper quality gasket. I checked them with my calpiers and there was def a difference, I forgot the exact numbers. Anyone run into this problem??? Whcich one should I use????

If you are using wiseco pistons, use the wiseco gasket. If you are using SBT pistons, use the SBT gasket.

Wouldn't a thinner headgasket yield a higher compression ratio? Thus creating more power?

Yes, but if you use one that is too thin, the motor may detonate, killing the power.
