  • Stumble at 1/3 throttle hard restart hot

    1997 xp - 787 engine
I turned my highs out 1/2 turn inorder to remove a 1/4 - 1/3 throttle slow acceleration stumble. Seems to work fine now. I have been dealing with a hot engine flooding hard to start(Starts right up with tail out of water then smokes alot). I rebuilt the carbs I did not change n/s however I did check pop off it was 45 lbs. I am going to turn in my lows in some I had them out 2 much to try to fix the stumble.(I think I am at 1 3/4 now) I'll also note that when I unscrew the gas cap there is no pressure build up (I think that is normal). Should I change n/s when I replace the carb filters this fall? thanks

Your accellerator pump nozzels are probably partially blocked. Try cleaning them. Yes, always replace the needles and seats when cleaning out the carbs. They are 8 years old.
