Re: I wrote yesterday 1996 GTX problem

Oh, the weld the pipe thing. On the big cast metal part that comes out of the top side of the motor, it's purple. I can see where it was welded. There are 4 round flat spots about the size of a 50 cent piece, 2 on one side towards the end and 2 on the other. These spots were reinforced with weld. Dealer told him that they were thin and could probably be punctured with a screw driver and a hit from his palm. They however were not leaking. No sign of water or foam on the rave valve piston just tar and baked on brown stuff.

Re: I wrote yesterday 1996 GTX problem

Went for a short test run this AM. Runs better but still not right. Had a starting (turn over) problem so clean battery terminals, no OK. While I weas cleaning the terminals I noticed a rond thing, looks like a rave valve cap connected to some hoses and on top of a purple tank left rear of seadoo was leaking water. I popped the cap off and notice what looks like a metal band was loose. It's about 1/8" thick and looks like it should wrap around a rubber piece, 2" diameter. It's not connected all the way around but has a flange on each end that looks like a small nut and bold could go thru. Help.

Never mind, I figured it out, it is a clamp, the screw came out but is now back together. Do they make a tool to tightened the plastic ties???
