How many hours out of a tank of oil?

I've got a 1998 GTX limited. I'm starting to get a little concerned about whether my Seadoo is using enough oil. I've got about 8 hours on it since the oil tank was full, and the tank now is FAR from empty. It's only got a small airspace at the top of the tank. (maybe less than an inch) I think there may have been some oil in the filler hose too so I think it's definitely burning a little.

1. How many tanks of fuel should I expect one tank full of oil to cover? I think I read about 4. If that's true I may be okay.

2. Can I supplement by putting some in the gas tank, just in case?

3. If so, how much?

Do not put oil in your gas tank. Nothing is wrong with your oiling system.
