DO YOU RUN IT PLUM OUT OF GAS OR IS IT ANY TIME YOU REMOVE THE GAS CAP,THERE IS A CHANCE THAT YOU HAVE A LEAK IN YOUR SUPPLY LINE THAT FEEDS THE FUEL PUMP(SUCKING AIR) ,I WOULD RECOMMEND THAT YOU LOOK AT YOUR FUEL LINES AND MAY NEED TO REPLACE THEM??ALSO CHECK THE SELLECTOR VAVLE THE O-RING CAN BRAKE AND STOP UPTHE VAVLE ,BUT I DON'T THINK THAT IS IT THAT WOULD CAUSEIT TO RUN BAD ALL THE TIME MAYBE THIS WILL HELP ??

This happens only when I remove the fuel cap. It can sit for wks and no problem, but when I remove the cap It takes a while to get it to run.

            It must be magic ??

If the fuel lines are all tight and the check valves are working correctly, I do not see how removing a gas cap could possibly be a problem.

the only thing that would cause that is if the tank is getting pressure on it and pushing fuel to the fuel pump and helping to over come a weak or bad pump or dirty fuel filter ,and when you remove the cap it loses the pressure and as it starts the shake up of the fuel it will re pressureize the tank ?? oooo I NEED A BEER AFTER ALL OF THAT THINKING !!!OR MAYBE i JUST NEED A BEER :emoticonn

Inspect/replace the Pressure and Vacuum check valves on the fuel tank vent hose. The model you have is prone to having some issues with the check valves and debris... check both valves, the vacuum valve is under the storage compartment cover, and the pressure relief valve is under the rub-rail just above the waterline.

Does this happen anytime you take the cap off, regardless of whether you fuel up or not? Reason I ask is that I had a similar prob when I fuel up and as Bill pointed out, it was cause by a crack in the filler neck that when the tank was full leaks enough so that the vapor causes it to run really rich and like crud. Possible that in 10 minutes enough fuel is burned/leaked so that it is no longer leaking and creating the fumes/overrich condition?

Do a smell test after you fill the tank. Lift the seat and if you smell a strong fuel oder, the filler neck flange on the tank is split. Replace the gas tank.
