I had the ski out yesterday pulling the kids on a tube and somehow the pull rope (nylon ski rope) got sucked into the ski. It seems like it ground up about a two foot piece. The ski runs fine but seems like it has less pull out of the hole than it did before. The high end speed is still there though. I had a couple other people give it a test run and they say it's fine. I'm anal, I think it's a little slow and has more vibration out of the hole. Did I damage anything when it ate the rope???

Look for excessive clearance between the impeller and housing.
Can you hear metal on metal when running the ski out of the water?
I think damage is unlikely for a normal ski rope. I've had friends run over similar things (at idle) - unwrap - no problems.
