I have a 96 GSX. Runs great at 1/2 throttle. When you go WOT, in 3-4 seconds, it shuts off completely...dies. Is usually at about 6500 RPM when this occurs. Rebuilt both carbs completely. Any suggestions in what my problem may be? I'm stumped!

Re: 96 GSX Loses Power (shuts off) at full throttle
Hello Again!
Took off the fuel selector valve and cleaned it. Appeared to be some sort of plastic shavings clogging one side of it. Reserve side was clean. Shavings were two different colors, sort of a clear and grey plastic. Do you think I should still proceed with changing all the fuel lines out?

You're the man Bill! That crap was in the carbs, but we had no idea what it was until we just removed one of the fuel lines and saw it in there. What else would you suggest we clean? We are also replacing the fuel fitlers...

Thank you for your knowledge. We have been EVERYWHERE picking apart everyone's brain trying to troubleshoot this problem. My husband is out in the garage sweating his little butt off, again, working on that **** seadoo. Never had any problems with it until we took it to Lake Mead. It decided to have it's problem when we go on vacation...go figure! We're taking it to Perris on Sunday, hopefully we'll actually be able to enjoy it!
