the needles were not holding pressure unless they were totally wet. They would "pop" one time and then they would leak if i kept pumping to check again(gradually build up pressure while leaking down). These are the original N&S... New N&S or is it supposed to leak down that way?

That was confusing. Are they the orginal N&S's or are they New Original equiptment Mikuni N&S's ?
NEVER CUT SPRINGS !! There is not one good reason I can think of to EVER cut a spring. Mikuni offers plenty of different springs and plenty of different N&S sizes. By matching the different springs with the needle and seat sizes, you can get any PO pressure that you want. There is a chart on their website telling you the PO pressure of the different combinations of springs and needle sizes. Use it. Then order the correct parts.Bill O'Neal <br>
