  • RAVE valve red screw adjustment

Where should the red screws on the exhaust RAVE valves be set? What is the adjustment for and what will altering it do to the performance? My ski is a 2001 RX with a 951 Silver engine.

It alters the time ( in rpm) of when the rave valve opens. The more spring pressure you put on the rave valve by adjusting it inward, the later in the rpm band it allows the rave valve to open.

What is the best place to start with this adjustment, flush and then start working downward? Does this affect the engine horsepower?

No it does not add or subtract any horsepower. It alters the low end power band. Start at fully bottomed out, then turn then one full turn from closed. Then you can try any seeting you want to see where you think they are working the best.
