  • no spark

had a 93 xp , rebuilt carbs , ran great, turned it on its side and did 5 layers of fiberlgas . turned over and would not start. drained gas tank ,cleaned lines, took carbs apart again to no avail.now i did have weak spark, bypassed plug boots and then have no spark .I understand now about the resistor in plug cap interfering with mpem. I think in one of the other posts that you take a white wire off of mpem/limiter circuit and it should run but not turn off. I was the on that put the 657 in there 3 years ago. I know what im doing on skis. However they don t make it simple to diagnose elec problems.Im going to get plug caps today and ill see what happens.by the way the 15 amp fuse was blown , I think i shorted some wires from the motor to elec box.I put new fuse and nothing.Any suggestions on how to isolate this problem?

    Re: no spark

There is no easy answer. Just keep testing and swapping parts unitl you find it. Start with all of your ground wires. Test the positive wires to see if one is not delivering power.

I m sorry I forgot to mention that those 5 layers were from a 8 inch long by 1 in gash on the underside of the hull . I suppose it is possible that the water he got in there would have done somthing to the flywheel and/or stator?
