  • DESS Key & Inline Water Filter

I've got a few small questions. Any input would be great. I ordered a new DESS lanyard and key. Does it have to be programmed or anything of the sort. If yes, would a dealer have to do it?

Also, I've got a crack in my inline water filter. I've found two different replacements: Riva or Flowjet (http://www.atlanticjetsports.com/waterline_filters.htm)

Is there any brand I should stray from?

    Thanks again.

The filters are pretty much all the same. Yes you have to bring the ski and new lanyard to a dealer to be programmed. Most charge $30 or so to do it, call ahead for a time.

All of those plastic water filters seem to crack sooner or later. Best thing is do not install one, just backflush the ski after you use it around sandy beaches.

If it cracks and leaks when you are riding the ski, not only does the hull fill with water, but the engine overheats and can cost you a motor.
