I just got this ski knowing the Vts didn't work, ski was into good of shape to pass up for the money $2,400 with trailer. I open the vts box took out the electric motor put direct power to the motor it works fine. When I put my key on the ski it beeps twice I've heard that means the vts is working? Once the ski has power and I hit the vts button all I get from the vts box is a clicking noise like what a relay sound and no power from the wires that would plug into the electric motor when I hit the vts button up or down.? You only have about a min. to check the wires for power before the ski's power cut's out. Still no power from wires within that min. of power. What do I need to get to make the vts work and or am I doing something wrong in diagnosing the vts? Thanks. Jeff.

Re: 96 XP VTS help needed!
I just went through this a few days ago. My box turned out to be working just fine, but your problem seems to be coming from the PCB on the back of the VTS box. have you been to this link? It gave me a good deal of info on it. The worst case is that you end up buying a new VTS box, minus the motor, or find one on ebay.Never miss a good chance to shut up.

Go to www.sea-doo.net and proceed to the tech articles section. There is a VTS diagnostics article here that will enable you, through a series of simple tests to determine what the problem is with your VTS. Most of the time, they're stuffed and you'll have to get a new one. Good luck:emoticont

Re: 96 XP VTS help needed!
Should be very easy to change out the parts, I fortunately didnt need to do any replacing, but I learned a great deal about them from the project and the link I posted earlier. Best of luck, and be sure to use some vaseline on the cover gasket and shaft boot seams. Also, seal the fitting for the VTS shaft at the hull, some silicone should work for that.Never miss a good chance to shut up.
