  • Exhaust R.A.V.E. Question?

I own a 96 XP 800 Rotax. I took the r.a.v.e.' s out and cleaned them. I had to get a closer look at the side of my pistons which are in great shape. Before I took off the black covers with the red center of the r.a.v.e. valves I marked where the red centers were, What are they for and do they need to be set to a certain postion or what? All that is under the cap is a spring so I'm assumeing the more clockwise you go with the red center the more pressure the spring puts on the r.a.v.e. valve and vis versa? What purpose dose the r.a.v.e. have for this motor? how many turns to thre right or left do I turn the red centers. thanks

On a 96xp800, I ran mine with them flush to the top of the cap part.
