  • Seadoo HX Tipping

I just bought a 95 seadoo HX and it keeps on tipping if it's not in motion.
    I will appreciate any info.

That is exactly how it is supposed to ride. It is a single seat sport craft, not meant for low speed operation.

Hehehe, I just bought one.....As soon as I got on, it tipped over. The trick is to not go slow! And when turning, don't go slow.

To sum up, don't go slow!!:(

The HX was my first ski, I was a little leary about it the first few days riding it, Now i love it. way fun machine. my biggest problem is getting my fat A** back on the thing when i fall off. not so easy but i will figure it out.

Yeah, I am still trying to master that. Would be good if someone made a video of how it's done....Hmmmm, maybe I can make one once I master it :emoticoni

                      Re: Seadoo HX Tipping

there was a video on DooMan's web site a few years back, don't have the link but if i find it i will add to thread.

if you sit as far forward on seat, almost on gas tank you should be able to maintain balance stopped. i have opened hood and reattached carb linkage sitting in water - stupid but no other choice at the time.

most everyone boards on left side, tipping ski in water, turn to right and riding out. IMO - the easiest way to get on: buy a wrist lanyard keep "key" in hand, put both hands on rear corners and push rear of ski in water, get knees on rear corners, slap in key, grab bars and go. it is easy to mount from the rear, just practice. i'm old and 178#'s and can climb up on seat in glass to light chop, when it's real rough just have to be quick.

if you can't master sitting and mounting after a few weekends, find an old kawasaki 650sx, spend two weeks on it and you will not have any trouble with HX. keep trying it's worth the ride!!!!

                            Re: Seadoo HX Tipping

Hmm. I'm 195 lbs and have no problem boarding mine from the rear...in fact, I have not many problems keeping it upright while stopped...even in choppy water...sure, it's a little unstable -- you'll get the hang of it. It helps to have a good sense of balance though. Those years of skateboarding finally paid off!

If you're going to do a lot of sitting in one place on this, install a bilge pump...it'll help out.

If I get a chance to have someone take video, I'll post it somewhere to show my "technique".

                            Long live the HX!
