  • GTX 4-TEC help

Put new plugs in the boat, it won't idle. In order for it to start, you have to give it atleast 1/4 throttle. Fuel issue? Pump and drive shaft are straight and ok. Brand new wear ring. Engine was full of water when I received it, but I have since got that out. Oil is still a little milky. Suggestions?

Suggestions? Don't run it with milky oil.

Pull the engine, remove the oil plug in the bottom of the motor, flush out with kerosine, replace the plug and oil and filter.

Think that is the running problem?

At least one of them, yes. If you got that much water in your enging, obviously something very bad happened. Most likely you have more issue - you need to go over everything - but don't expect it to be like a 2 stroke - just fire it up and run it. Doesn't happen with 4's.
