  • GSX problems

ok i posted earlier,I was having problems getting above 1600 rpm's so i cleaned out the carbs, the filters were dirty,so i went back to the lake today and still same thing,1600 rpm's on trailer :7000?it just won't go.I took off the impeller and am chjecking the wear ring.there is some clearance but not sure how much
ski runs like crazy out of water, but have noticed that it only tacks like 1600 now instead of 3000 out of water now,I have just rebuilt the top end,i hope i haven't screwed it up.if 1 of the fuel lines were sucking air, would it cause this?

If the filters were clogged are you sure you solved the clogging problem? Is there another in line filter. Did the carbs plug up again. Did you rebuild the carb or just take it apart and put it back.

      Check the throttle cable adjustments.

1600? That is pathetic. It should idle at around 3000 rpm on the trailer.

Take the stuff you bolted back onto the motor off and see where you made your mistake. Start with the fuel lines. Are they connected to the correct fittings? Do the butteryflys in the carbs open when you squeeze the throttle? Are the choke plates closed? Did you have the rotary valve off? What is the compression of the motor in both clyinders now? Pistons in backwards?
