  • Modified 587 twin carb RV ???'s

Hi I found a carb set up of a 95 Xp that I'm putting on a 94 Gts white engine, I had the engine apart, so I matched the cases to the new intake manifold, now that's done got all this questions on how to time the RV, since I changed the timing on the boring of the block.

Does anyone knows if I just ruined the block or just need a diferent valve, and how to install it? I'm confused due to the timing advance on the new lay out....

Look in the technical articles: "installing a rotary valve" or similiar heading.

I tried that, but still confused on how, seems like I'm doing it backwards (installing the RV) because I see the holes spraying out when crancking.

I try to start the engine with some brake cleaner and that's what happened, good spark, but seems like not going to the cilinder (time way off).

The magneto clyinder is the one at the front of the motor, by the magneto. Try bringing that one up to TDC ( top dead center). Then look at the front intake port. If your RV is about 5/8ths of an inch below the front port and that port is uncovered, you have the valve real close to being right. If not, you messed up.
