'93 XP :Can't ride with a passenger

I recently purchased a pair of 1993 Seadoo XP's that run fine when I am riding alone. When I stick a passenger behind me I can't take off. The engine revs high when I give it gas but there is no acceleration. I thought I bought a two person PWC but I have only been able to ride it as a single person machinge. Is there something wrong with my Seadoo or is this model not able to carry a passenger. As you can probably tell I am new to PWC's and any input would be helpful.

pull your jetpump and inspect the prop and wear ring one or both are in need of service .
